Victor Lindelof reveals Man Utd plans to stop Eden Hazard in Chelsea clash

Victor Lindelof has lifted the lid on how Manchester United plan to stop Eden Hazard in their top four showdown with Chelsea .

United need a win over Chelsea at Old Trafford after losing five of their last six matches in all competitions.

They have slipped down to sixth in the Premier League table and another defeat will all but end their hopes of finishing in the top four.

Hazard remains Chelsea's talisman and Jose Mourinho often successfully tasked Ander Herrera with man-marking the Belgian during his tenure.

Herrera is unlikely to be fit enough to feature on Sunday and Lindelof has offered an insight into how United will deal with Hazard.

Jadon Sancho transfer: Dortmund chief sends message to Man Utd and Real Madrid

"Don’t give him too much space because he will do something great, he’s a fantastic player," Lindelof told the United Review

"He’s shown that for a lot of years now. You have to stay close to him and don’t let him have any space with the ball facing our goal."

Willian or Pedro is likely to start in attack following Callum Hudson-Odoi's season-ending injury but Lindelof believes Chelsea pose a threat, no matter who plays.

Man Utd given Kalidou Koulibaly transfer boost by Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti

"They’re just a very good team with some fantastic players. Even if they have a bad day, they still have very good individual players who can create chances from almost nothing.

"They’re very good in possession so you have to be really focused when you’re defending. You can’t give them too much space. They’re a good team but we’ll be ready for this game."

Lindelof is likely to start with Chris Smalling in central defence as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reverts back to a four-man defence.
