Victor Lindelof perfectly sums up Marcus Rashford's free-kick against Chelsea

Victor Lindelof noted the similarities between Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo's free-kick technique after Rashford's superb strike gave Manchester United a 2-1 win against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

It was Rashford who gave his side the lead in the first half with a 25th minute penalty, but Michy Batshuayi equalised for Chelsea in the second-half.

However, Rashford sent his team through to the quarter-finals with a brilliant 30-yard free-kick which whistled into the top corner of the net.

Lindelof, who was substituted for Anthony Martial in the second-half, was quick to praise his teammate on Twitter after the game.

He posted a blurred out picture of Ronaldo striking a free-kick during his time at United, followed by a picture of somebody cleaning their glasses, and finally a picture of Rashford hitting his free-kick.

Lindelof also accompanied the tweet with the caption: "Sure I've seen that somewhere before..." along with an emoji of a rocket.

Supporters reacted with delight to the tweet, with one posting "A sensational tweet", while another added "Lindelof shoots. Scores. SCREAMER."

Rashford has now scored four goals in his last four games in all competitions for United, and is their top goalscorer with seven goals in total.

Solskjaer also agreed with Lindelof's Ronaldo comparison after the game.

"It was very Cristiano-like," he said. "The boy has nerves of steel. He takes a penalty no problem, and then steps up and hits the ball like he did and wins us the game. Fantastic."

United are also on a good run of form, having won three and drawn one in their last four games, and will look to continue putting pressure on the top four when they take on Bournemouth on Saturday.
