Victor Lindelof makes Anthony Elanga prediction after Manchester United breakthrough

Victor Lindelof has praised Anthony Elanga following his breakthrough end to the season and backed the youngster for a bright future at Manchester United.

Elanga, 19, enjoyed a memorable end to the season as he signed a new long-term contract at Old Trafford before scoring his first senior goal during the win at Wolves on the final day of the season.

The academy forward continued his run of form into the international break as well, scoring on his debut for Sweden's U21s in a friendly victory over Finland last week.

Elanga could be poised for a career-defining season during the next campaign with the young Swede in line to feature for United during their pre-season matches this summer.

Lindelof knows all about his fellow Swede having trained with him throughout the past year and he is backing the United youngster to realise his potential.

"It is very fun for him, he is a kind and good guy who works hard and wants to learn," Lindelof told reporters while away on international duty. "He has many fine qualities as a player and he is still young."

When asked about Elanga's future at club level compatriot Lindelof backed him for a bright future as long as he keeps his head on the ground.

He added: "It's fun that he got to show himself and that he scored in the last match. If he does the work required, he will have a great future."
