Victim needs surgery and suffers 'life-altering injuries' after stabbing in Nottingham

Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed in Nottingham and taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Officers were called to Lillington Road in Bulwell at around 11.30am on Saturday November 7 to reports that a man was seriously injured following the stabbing.

Police set up a cordon near to Newmarket Road while they worked to investigate.

Nottinghamshire Police said it is believed that all those involved are known to each other.

The man was taken to hospital and required surgery to treat his wounds. He is now in a stable condition but is thought to have suffered life-altering injuries.

A cordon remains in place in Lillington Road while detectives conduct their enquiries.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, has urged anyone with any information to get in touch with police as soon as possible.

DI Burrow said: “This was a serious incident that has left a man with potentially life-changing injuries.

“The incident happened in broad daylight in a residential area and it is likely that there would have been quite a commotion at the time.

“The investigation is at an early stage and we are working around the clock to establish what happened and find those responsible.

“It is believed that all those involved are known to each other and early signs would indicate that this is an isolated incident.

“I’d ask that anyone who may have seen or heard something suspicious or has any information or dashcam footage of the incident to get in touch as soon as possible.

“Any information you have, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, could help us find who did this.”

Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Christine Busuttil, added: “We have upped patrols in the area to provide reassurance and I’d encourage anyone who has any concerns to speak with our officers.

“Knife crime has a devastating impact on people’s lives and Nottinghamshire Police will always investigate such incidents thoroughly.”

If you have any information that could aid detectives in their investigation, please do not hesitate to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 215 of 7 November 2020.
