Vicky Phelan posts huge cancer treatment update as CT scan shows no new tumours

Campaigner Vicky Phelan has told supporters that her latest CT scan showed no new tumours in a video posted to her Instagram account, late last night.

Phelan shared the happy news that she was three days post-treatment and had not been sick once since the operation.

"Day 3 after Round #5 of treatment. It's Friday, March 26, 3 days post treatment and I have NOT vomited once," said the CervicalCheck campaigner in her video address.

"It looks like my body is finally beginning to adjust to the meds and that we have landed on a combination of anti-sickness meds that is working for me.

"In good news, results from my CT scan show no new tumours and while there was a slight increase in one tumour, there were mild decreases in three other tumours so it all balances itself out.

"The overall impression by the radiologist in my report was there is no significant change to my disease status.

"That is all good at this stage of the disease. Stability is good particularly when I have only been able to have half the dose I should be on."

She thanked her supporters for their support, adding how much it has meant to her during her treatment and to her family.

Phelan is currently in Maryland in the US taking part in a clinical trial for a new drug in a bid to prolong her life.

The mother of two, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer following a cervical smear test error, was recently taken into hospital after experiencing adverse effects from her fourth round of chemotherapy.

Despite the intense treatment in the clinical trials, she has been regularly updating those who have followed her story, on her progress via social media.

People have been reaching out to Phelan via the Vicky's Tribe Facebook group, to share their messages and prayers of support and follow along with her updates on the treatment.
