Vicky Pattison travels 290miles to Newcastle to see relatives for first time in 4 months

Vicky Pattison has finally reunited with her loved ones after not being able to see them for over four months amid the pandemic.

The former Geordie Shore star, 32, made the 290miles long trip from Essex to Newcastle to see her sister Laura and her niece Mavie.

Sharing a snap of herself on the train en route to her sister's pad up north, Vicky admitted that she'll "cry" when she comes face-to-face with her baby niece.

She penned: "After almost 4 months... I am heading back to Newcastle to see my family and just know I’m going to cry when I see my niece for the second time EVER.

"I hope you’re all enjoying the new normal..."

During the long journey, Vicky kept herself entertained by laughing around with her boyfriend Ercan Ramadan.

In one snap, she even put her feet on Ercan's chest as she wrote: "Annoying him is my favourite, I don't blame him like... my feet are gross."

After arriving at her hometown, Vicky decided to purchase some gifts for her niece before knocking on her sister's door.

She asked her 4.6 million Instagram followers for advice on the best brands for babywear.

She wrote: "Does anyone know of any great baby wear boutiques? I'm looking for some new stuff for my 4 month old niece Mavie? Thankyou in advance for any suggestions..."

The overwhelming volume of responses helped her in snapping up what she was looking for.

Vicky hasn't yet shared any snaps of her overdue reunion.

Her trip to see her loved ones comes as the UK has eased lockdown rules after Boris Johnson said the public can enjoy day-trips in their car without a distance cap.

Announcing the ease of the lockdown, the PM said:"We want to encourage people to take more and even unlimited amounts of outdoor exercise."

He added: "You can sit in the sun in your local park, you can drive to other destinations, you can even play sports but only with members of your own household.

"You must obey the rules on social distancing and to enforce those rules we will increase the fines for the small minority who break them."
