Vicky Pattison reveals struggle with "truly horrible" coronavirus that left her bed bound for weeks

Vicky Pattison has opened up about her "truly horrible" time with coronavirus, after being struck down over the festive period and left bed bound for nearly three weeks.

The former Geordie Shore star revealed right before New Year that she and boyfriend Ercan Ram were feeling "sick as a chip" and, as a result let "2020 just slink off into the sunset without much fanfare."

The Wallsend TV star revealed she felt very poorly after suffering constant aches and pains, a soaring temperature and exhaustion.

Opening up about how bad things got, Vicky, 33, took to Instagram on Tuesday to write: "After almost 3 weeks in bed sweating, shaking and whinging going from being boiling hot one moment to freezing cold the next, experiencing all the advertised aches, pains and exhaustion it feels lovely to be feeling slightly more like myself again.

Telling her millions of followers that nothing can keep her down for long, Vicky explained: "It hasn’t been nice at all, it’s a truly horrible little virus and apart from that I’m a terrible sick person- so I’m so pleased I’ve turned a corner! I think @ercan_ram is too so he doesn’t have to listen to my constant complaining."

Vicky, who won I'm A Celebrity in 2015, also revealed she didn't suffer from one of the most well documented symptoms of COVID-19 - a loss of taste.

On another post about trying to get her fitness motivation back, Vicky added: "I just felt so sorry for myself I was allowing myself whatever I wanted!

"I know some people experienced loss of taste and smell and even appetite but not this little piggy... oh no! Will take more than the rona to put me off me scran I’m afraid."

Vicky was back on TV right before Christmas in a Celebrity Masterchef festive special which was pre-recorded in advance.

She was beaten to victory by journalist and Loose Women star Janet Street-Porter.
