Vicky Pattison launches Help The Elderly project to deliver care packages during lockdown

Vicky Pattison has responded to the country going into lockdown with the launch of a campaign which aims to offer valuable assistance to those who need it most.

It's been two days since Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave an address to the nation an informed us all that we had to stay at home wherever possible to try and combat the spread of coronavirus, with only a few accepted reasons for needing to leave the house

His announcement, while welcomed by many, immediately left those in at risk groups, including many elderly people feeling isolated and, addressing this, Vicky, who shot to fame on Geordie Shore and went onto win I'm A Celebrity in 2015, launched the Help The Elderly Project, with the emotive message "these people went to war for us- we can do this for them."

The 32-year-old is striving to raise £10,000 via JustGiving and posting on her page, wrote: "I cannot see another picture of an elderly person staring at an empty supermarket shelf. I just can‘t. This selfish stockpiling & everyman for himself attitude to this virus outbreak has left me feeling empty & disappointed.

" I cannot see another picture of busy parks, crammed with people flaunting government guidelines & showing a blatant lack of respect to their fellow man. This is madness & I can’t sit idly by & watch this happen.

Myself, @age_uk @mcvitiesofficial @heinz_uk @whitworthsuk @scoffmeals & @yahireltd have teamed up to start distributing Isolation Care packages to the elderly & vulnerable members of communities who are feeling too scared or at risk leaving their homes to do their weekly shops.

"We will be including as many essentials as possible & 5 nutritious & delicious meals so that the recipients can enjoy a hot & healthy meal of an evening.

Vicky is urging people to "dig deep, & think of those less fortunate than ourselves in these testing times," and added that as well as making a donation HERE , people can send non perishables, such as teabags, tins, rice, pasta etc to: Unit 13, Cranford Way, London, N8 9DG.
