Vicky Pattison 'diagnosed with rare eating disorder' as she opens up on weight gain

Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison has reportedly been diagnosed with a rare eating disorder.

According to The Sun , the TV favourite has a nocturnal sleep-related eating disorder (NS-RED) – which means she eats in the middle of the night and then doesn't remember doing so.

It comes after Vicky recently opened up to fans about how her weight gain had left her feeling "sad".

She told them that she'd munched a whole packet of Dirotos crisps in her sleep, and panicked about looking good in her dress for the TV BAFTAs.

An insider told the publication: "Vicky goes to bootcamps about three times a year, regularly exercises and watches what she eats — in the daytime. So to discover her body is betraying her at night has come as such a blow.

"She would put on about half a stone and couldn’t figure out why. Then one morning she saw the detritus of a 3am blowout and worked it out, and has now been diagnosed with NS-RED."

The source added that Vicky is "determined to beat" her condition, and stop her night-time snacking.

The news comes as the reality star recently opened up in the raw and lengthy post about how she was feeling 'lonely' and worried over her 'weight gain'.

She took to  Instagram  where she confessed that she felt like a 'fraud' after five different female fans told her she was an inspiration to them because she was always so real on social media.

Vicky admitted in the caption alongside a make-up free selfie that she was struggling with her confidence ahead of attending the TV BAFTAs at the weekend.

"I’m lonely, I’ve gained weight recently & it’s getting me down no matter how much I pretend I’m ok with it," she said.

"I’m going to the Baftas for the first time on Sunday & I’m so nervous that I won’t fit in or look as good as everyone else I’m losing sleep over it."
