Vicky Pattison cries as she reveals a 4cm size cyst has been discovered on her ovary

Geordie Shore bombshell Vicky Pattison has opened up about being diagnosed with 'abnormalities' on her ovaries, while revealing that a 4cm cyst has been detected.

Taking to Instagram to detail her diagnosis, the 34-year-old TV personality spoke of her health worries, explaining how it was especially worrying as a woman in her thirties.

The star had previously revealed that she struggled with painful periods and had planned to freeze her eggs for the future, but after heading to the GP to investigate, she received some news that left her feeling tearful.

Posting a photo on Instagram, Vicky could be seen crying, before she posted a happier snap afterwards.

The Geordie lass penned: "As you guys know I have been struggling with my periods for awhile & last week I went to the doctors in the hopes of finally getting some answers.

"After a consultation with a GP, some blood tests & an ultrasound- they discovered some abnormalities on my ovaries- in particular a 4 cm sized cyst on the left one- which is most probably why my periods are so painful."

She then said: "On one hand I am super pleased I finally have some answers- I was starting to feel like I was going crazy, I almost convinced myself I was just some weak bitch who couldn’t handle her f**king period when every other woman seemed to be able to- but now I know- I somehow feel as though my whinging was justified."

Continuing, she wrote: "But on the other hand, this isn’t information I was expecting- I had prepared myself to maybe hear that I was suffering from PMDD or something & I thought I had braced myself for the worst but this just hadn’t even occurred to me & understandable last week I felt a little overwhelmed- which is why it’s taken me so long to share this.

"As many women may know, a cyst of this size can make conceiving naturally very difficult- which is enough to take the wind out of any woman’s sails let alone a woman in her 30’s.

"Now I know there are loads of options & it’s not uncommon for cysts to shrink so I’m not going to let my mind run away with itself & fixate on the most distressing outcome- I am instead going to be realistic & positive. I have a call with my doctor this week & I think for now he just wants to keep an eye on it & schedule regular scans to monitor its progress."

She then opened up about how she's been coping with the news, explaining: "I’ve been processing this information over the last couple days & I am feeling loads better- (see second pic) I’m so sorry I kept you guys in the dark- I just wasn’t expecting that news I suppose so it’s taken me some time to get my head around it. But I am really glad I went & I suppose what I want to say is firstly Thank You for all your concern, kind messages- it means a lot."

Urging her fans to see their GP if anything is bothering them, she said: "But also, if there’s something worrying you or niggling away at you about your health- don’t put it to the back of your mind- be proactive, get help & make yourself and your health a priority."

Vicky then went on to thank the clinic she visited for looking after her.

Fans, friends and followers were quick to support the star, with almost 90,000 people liking her honest post and thousands upon thousands of sweet comments.

One fan wrote: " Sending you so much love you strong woman!"

Another penned: " Sending you a massive geordie hug Vicky you beaut! You’re so strong and resilient and can get through anything life throws at you even those rotten periods and annoying bloody cyst. Bless you man. Lots of love."

While a third said: Whatever you’re feeling it’s completely justified, feel whatever emotion comes and don’t think you have to stay positive. F**k toxic positivity! Sometimes we just need to have a good cry and let it all out. Sending love."

The Geordie Shore star has been dating beau Ercan Ramadan since 2019, and is considering freezing her eggs for the future because the couple don't want to have a baby just yet.
