Vicky McClure reveals Line of Duty off-set secrets

It feels like only five minutes ago that DI Kate Fleming and the rest of AC-12 came back into our lives with an explosive start to Line of Duty's latest series.

And yet this Sunday (May 5) marks the grand finale of season 5 and with it (hopefully) the answer to the burning question... just who is H?

While leading lady and Nottingham-native Vicky McClure is remaining shtum on the subject, the 35-year-old star has revealed a few off-set secrets from the programme - including what it's like "practically living with" co-stars Martin Compston (Steve Arnott) and Adrian Dunbar (Ted Hastings).

"It's true of any job but you will have a better time if you are genuinely really good friends with those people," says Vicky, who Line of Duty star Vicky McClure reveals wedding plan snippets - including city where she'll marry fiance Jonny Owen when she's not jetting off to Belfast for filming commitments.

"Myself, Martin, Ady and Jed [Mercurio, Line of Duty writer] have obviously been there from the start so we've really done eight years together.

"If you look at it, I was in my 20s when we started, and being in your 20s to being in your 30s is a whole different ball game - you grow up.

"It is surreal and we do have a great laugh on set. We all get on really, really well."

It's probably apt then that BBC One made a Friends parody video of the show as it seems they really are that close.

"We all look after each other and we practically live together because we are in flats next door," says Vicky, who can also be seen fronting an emotional Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure: Celebs and viewers in tears watching emotional BBC One documentary.

"Me, Ady and Martin all have different purposes. I like to keep my flat quite clean so mine is like the line learning flat. When we do lines, they come to me, the kettle is on, there's tea and biscuits.

"Ady's is the food flat as he's the cook and then Martin's is the party flat. I can't be doing with parties in my flat but I do make sure if we've had a few drinks at Martin's I'll have a bit of clear up."

As for audience reaction and topping the number one spot for most watched TV show so far this year, Vicky is still in disbelief.

She says: "I can't believe I'm in it. Everyone is going mad for it -  my friends and family, social media, people in the street, and you think I'm really lucky... because I'm actually in that show."
