Vicki Gunvalson’s son-in-law was forced to reveal the sex of his fourth child after the former Real Housewives of Orange County star ruined their gender reveal party.
Ryan Culberson was left fuming after his famous mother-in-law shared a private family video announcing the child’s gender on Instagram without permission.
The picture was quickly deleted, but not before the big surprise had been spoiled.
It showed Vicki’s daughter Briana Culberson shooting pink smoke into the sky with husband Ryan and their two eldest sons, Troy, eight, and seven-year-old Owen.
In a video posted to his own Instagram story, Ryan said: “You ever get really good news and then find out your mother-in-law ruins it? Well, it happened to me today.
The retired US marine then added: “Oh, yeah, we’re having a girl.”
“So thankful for @vickigunvalson,” Ryan, who was stationed in Afghanistan until 2017, sarcastically captioned the post.
In a follow-up Instagram video, which has since been deleted, he again took a swipe at his 59-year-old mother-in-law.
“It aint smart to pi** off the one that knows everything – and I know everything,” he said.
The new baby will be the fourth child for Ryan and Briana, who have appeared on episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County alongside matriarch Vicki.
As well as Troy and Owen, they have another son, Hank, who is nine months old.
This means the latest addition to the family will be the first daughter for the Culbersons.
In a social media post on August 30, Ryan announced they were expecting again and called the baby the family’s “grand finale”.
He added the new baby would arrive in March 2022.
Briana doesn’t have a personal Instagram, but shared their baby news on her and Ryan’s keto diet account, which the couple started since shedding 150lbs between them since 2018.
The 33-year-old wrote: “We are over the moon excited, as are our children and the rest of our family.”
Asking their 239,000 Instagram followers to respect their privacy during her pregnancy, she added: “I will not share or discuss anything personal about this pregnancy other than what I’m eating during it.
“If you want personal dirt on me or to talk crap about my personal life, please find it elsewhere. I’m not strong enough for that stuff and never have been.”
Ryan and mother-in-law Vicki haven’t had the easiest of relationships.
She certainly wasn’t happy when Briana announced she had married Ryan in a drive-thru ceremony in Las Vegas when the couple eloped in 2011.
Vicki and ex-husband Donn Gunvalson later walked Briana down the aisle in a proper wedding ceremony in May 2012, while she was four months pregnant.
The Bravo star split with Donn in 2014 after 20 years together. She has another son, Mike, from her first marriage to Michael J. Wolfsmith, which ended in 1991.
Vicki was one of the original Real Housewives cast members, appearing on the show from its premiere in 2006.
But she was famously demoted from housewife to ‘friend’ status in 2019 and dropped from the show in 2020.
