Vicious gang surround then brutally attack innocent bystander in unprovoked assault

A pack of youths launched a brutal and unprovoked attack on a man before threatening him with a bottle.

The assault, caught on CCTV, was on a man who was believe to be in the area to collect a friend from work.

The footage shows three youngsters, trying to hide their faces as they start punching and kicking the man.

Police say the victim is still ‘struggling to come to terms with the attack’ which took place outside the Grimbsy Fishing Heritage Centre.

Humberside Police released the footage three weeks after the incident which happened at around 8.15pm on Monday, September 9.

A spokesman said: “We are appealing for help to identify the men shown in this CCTV footage.

“We also have captured stills from the footage, which we know are not the greatest quality but hopefully along with the footage might help people ID them.“

Detective Chris Clarke, who is investigating the assault said: “The victim was set upon by a number of men in an unprovoked attack outside the Alexandra Business Centre at Fisherman’s Wharf in Grimsby.

“He suffered cuts and bruising to his head and body and is still struggling to come to terms with the attack.

“We have followed up a number of lines of enquiry since the incident and are now asking for help to ID the men shown in this footage, if you can help please give me a call.”

Humberside Police urged anyone with information to contact 101.
