Vicious armed thugs seriously injure pair in brutal Dublin attacks just hours apart

South Dublin residents are being terrorised by vicious thugs who seriously injured two men in their 40s and 50s in separate brutal attacks over the weekend.

One gang attempted to burgle a house in the Crumlin area in the early hours of Sunday morning, when a man was injured during the aggravated incident.

Just 18 hours later, another man was rushed to hospital following an assault in the nearby Dublin 8 area.

It is understood that the victim needed to be taken to St. James's Hospital where he is recovering from his injuries following the attack at Dolphin House before 7pm on Sunday. 

Gardai confirmed the injuries to Dublin Live but it is not known if both incidents are connected.

A spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred in the Crumlin area, Dublin on the 22 November at approximately 12:10am.

"A male in his 40s received non-life threatening injuries during the course of the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made and investigations ongoing."

She added: "Gardaí are also investigating an alleged assault which occurred in Dublin 8 area on the 22 November at approximately 6:40pm.

"A male in his 50s received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
