Leicester City players paid their respects at a Bhuddist temple in Bangkok during the second day of a funeral for the club’s owner, who died in a helicopter crash.

Jamie Vardy, Kasper Schmeichel and Harry Maguire were pictured during the service for Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in the Thai capital.

A week-long funeral is being held for the billionaire businessman and the Leicester team flew out to Bangkok to participate just hours after beating Cardiff on Saturday in their first match since his tragic death.

Dressed in dark suits and black ties, manager Claude Puel led the squad to the service at the temple on Sunday and Monday.

They are due to arrive back in the UK on Tuesday, ahead of Saturday’s home match against Burnley.

It will be the first match played at the King Power Stadium since Mr Srivaddhanaprabha’s helicopter crashed outside it following a match against West Ham.

Nusara Suknamai, Kaveporn Punpare, pilot Eric Swaffer and his partner, Izabela Roza Lechowicz, also died in the crash on October 27.

Mr Srivaddhanaprabha oversaw one of the greatest underdog successes in sports when his 5,000-1 outsiders won the English Premier League title in 2016.

The business world remembers Vichai as the retail entrepreneur who grew Thailand's massive King Power duty-free chain. Today the King Power empire is worth £3.8 billion according to Forbes.
