Andhra Pradesh: Vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu felicitates teachers, students; regrets abuse culture

AMARAVATI/VIJAYAWADA: Vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu has lauded the services being extended by Sri Ramineni Foundation for spreading the rich Indian tradition and culture.

He said the foundation has been presenting Pratibha Puraskaram and Guru Puraskaram for the past two decades to the best students and teachers in the state.

Addressing the Sri Ramineni Foundation Pratibha Awards ceremony on Tuesday, the Vice-President said Covid-19 has rattled the entire education system across the world.

Venkaiah Naidu appealed to the people to learn Telugu before learning foreign languages. Education minister Dr Adimulapu Suresh, former Guntur ZP chairman and foundation convenor Pathuri Nagabhushanam, and foundation president Ramineni Dharma Pracharak were present.

All the mandal level, and district level toppers in ZP high schools in SSC examinations 2020, 2021 in Guntur and Krishna districts and state toppers were honoured with Pratibha Puraskaram. Mandal education officers and best HMs were given Guru Puraskaram.

Earlier in the day, Venkaih Naidu attended the diamond jubilee celebrations of Sri Patibandla Sitaramaiah High School in Guntur. He expressed anguish over the deteriorating values in the society. He said public representatives are using abusive language in legislative assemblies and Parliament.

He appreciated the state for implementing the new education policy introduced by the Union government.
