A further six cases of COVID-19 have reportedly been detected in the regional Victorian town of Shepparton, taking the total for the outbreak to seven.
Thousands of people in the town and surrounding areas have been forced into isolation, and several school campuses have closed, after a man in his 30s tested positive on Friday.
The first case is in isolation at home and his family has also been tested.
Earlier on Friday, the Premier Daniel Andrews refused to rule out a wider lockdown for regional Victoria, following the detection of the first Shepparton case.
The state's COVID response chief Jeroen Weimar said the man has two children at St Mel's Primary in Shepparton, which has been closed.
Mr Weimar told reporters on Friday he wanted local testing efforts to focus on primary close contacts in the school community and people who may have been exposed.
"I urge anyone in Shepparton as we start to identify exposure sites and anyone symptomatic, please come and get tested," he said.
Students from all four campuses of Greater Shepparton Secondary College were identified as Tier 1 close contacts on Friday and parents at the school have been told to collect their children as soon as possible.
Students and their families have been told to remain at home until they receive further orders from the health department.
The school had returned to on-site learning on August 10 after a recent five-day lockdown.
The Shepparton Tutoring Centre on Wyndham St has also been listed as a tier one exposure site.
Goulburn Valley Health says contact tracing is under way in the town and people will be notified of any exposure sites, while two new drive-through testing sites are being set up.
At a media conference on Friday, Mr Andrews urged people to get tested.
"I know that the people of the Goulburn Valley will absolutely step up and get tested just like they did last year," he told reporters on Friday.
COVID-19 has been detected in wastewater samples in the area since August 10.
During the state's deadly second wave in 2020, a Melbourne truck driver spread the virus to Shepparton, infecting three people.
