Vic man charged with 2019 manslaughter

A 48-year-old man has been charged over a 2019 killing at Ashburton in Melbourne's southeast. (AAP)

A man has appeared in court charged with killing another man in southeast Melbourne.

Byron Lister Campbell is charged with the manslaughter of 33-year-old Mark Cooper at Ashburton on December 15, 2019.

Campbell, 48, sat with his head in his hands during a video link appearance in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.

He was arrested hours earlier.

He was remanded in custody to reappear for a committal case conference on June 18.
