A Melbourne man has been charged with 20 offences after allegedly throwing a glass bottle and rocks at police officers during anti-lockdown and anti-vaccine protests.
Victoria Police set up a taskforce in the weeks after violent protests across Melbourne, which swarmed Richmond on September 18.
Following their investigation, detectives arrested and charged an Elwood man, 52, on Thursday with offences including assaulting police, discharging a missile, recklessly causing injury, intentionally causing injury, assault with a weapon, riot and affray.
Police will allege the man threw a glass bottle at officers on Burnley Street in Richmond, which injured two.
They also alleged he threw rocks at police on Bridge Road, "charged and knocked over" another officer, and resisted arrest on Barkers Road.
The man will face the Melbourne Magistrates Court via video link on Thursday night.
