Vic GAT rescheduled again for Year 12s

The annual general achievement test for Victorian Year 12 students has been rescheduled again. (AAP)

The annual general achievement test for Victorian Year 12 students has been rescheduled again due to the state's sixth lockdown.

Education Minister James Merlino on Tuesday confirmed the test, known as the GAT, will be rescheduled due to ongoing community transmission of the Delta variant of COVID-19.

The test had initially been scheduled for June 9 and then was delayed to August 12. A new date will be determined in coming days.

Mr Merlino said any students who test positive for COVID-19, are close contacts of an infected person or attend a school deemed an exposure site, will receive an exemption from the GAT on the rescheduled date.

The GAT is a three-hour general knowledge test used to check that students' Victorian Certificate of Education external and school-based assessments have been accurately assessed.
