Vic Fangio says Broncos fans have ‘every right’ to boo dismal offense

The Broncos’ offense was absolutely terrible against the Chiefs on Thursday evening, scoring just six points. This season, Denver is averaging just 16 points a game, the 29th-worst total in the league.

It got so bad against Kansas City that fans at Empower Field at Mile High booed their own team. After a 30-6 loss, Broncos coach Vic Fangio didn’t have any scolding words for the booing fans — he understands their anger.

“With that performance, they have every right to be angry and they have every right to boo,” Fangio said during his Friday press conference. “We probably deserved it.”

Denver had a 403-game sellout streak that lasted through the team’s 4-12 season in 2010, so Broncos fans are clearly loyal. They’re getting fed up with the team’s dismal offense, though, and Fangio doesn’t blame them.

“It’s a loyal fan base and one that I’ve grown quickly to appreciate. We’re doing everything we can to get this fixed as quickly as possible.”
