Vic drug trafficker, 30, told to 'grow up'

A judge has told a Melbourne man busted with drugs in a luxury handbag to "grow up". (AAP)

A Melbourne man busted with drugs in a luxury handbag has been handed a community corrections and some life advice from a judge.

Police found Jimmey Barkho with 182.6 grams of ice, as well as three mobile phones and $8926, tucked away in a Louis Vuitton bag after raiding a Sydenham home in June 2018.

Barkho on Tuesday faced the Victorian County Court, where he was sentenced to 101 days in prison, equating to time he has already served, and a three-year community corrections order.

"You are now 30 years of age - growing up is long overdue," Judge Helen Syme said.

"Trafficking any drug of dependence is a serious matter. Anyone who participates in the movement of those substances should expect serious punishment.

"This is your very, very last chance."

Barkho had earlier pleaded guilty to trafficking a drug of dependence and negligently dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Police raided the Sydenham home after investigating another man's alleged drug trafficking when they found Barkho moving away from the Louis Vuitton bag on a bed.

The Port Melbourne man must also complete 350 hours of unpaid community work.
