Vibration Festival revellers urged to take lateral flow test before attending this weekend

Revellers attending Vibration Festival in Falkirk this weekend are being urged to take a lateral flow test before going and not to attend if you test positive for coronavirus.

Thousands of people will pack into Callander Park when the gates first open at 3pm this afternoon, with the likes of Cast and The Pigeon Detectives headlining the main stage tonight.

Tomorrow, The Fratellis and Reef will have the crowd bouncing to what is expected to be a sellout crowd.

Organisers say it's not essential to do a test, but add it's about personal responsibility with staff having to take a test themselves.

Polmont brothers David and Andy Ure, head up the festival.

David told Falkirk Live: "Being a small local family business in the events industry we were hit hugely hard by covid lockdown measures, but hope with the support of all the festival goers we can bounce back in style and put on a show that everyone in Falkirk can be proud of.

"It's not essential people take a lateral flow test before entering the site this weekend, but it is all about personal responsibility.

"All staff will have to take one, so why shouldn't all punters? Think of your safety as well as everyone else's.

"There's going to be around five and a half thousand people packed into Callander Park between Friday and Saturday."
