Viagogo ticket tout tycoon buys £67m mansions after ripping off music fans

The boss of the world’s biggest ticket tout site has bought a trio of multi-million pound mansions – while he continues to rip-off pop fans.

Viagogo boss Eric Baker bought his most recent £30million LA home despite claims his firm has broken strict rules on secondary ticketing.

MPs on the all party parliamentary group on ticket abuse were told Viagogo is continuing to use misleading tactics that allow the worst touts to sell tickets for re-arranged events.

They also heard calls for the Competition and Markets Authority team to step aside after running a toothless “compliance operation”.

Adam Webb, of the FanFair Alliance group, gave evidence to the MPs of Baker’s real estate buy.

It was the latest in a string of purchases.

He paid £18million for an estate in LA’s Beverley Hills in 2018 and £19million for a home nearby in January last year.

Webb said: “Any fan who has bought a ticket from Viagogo only to find it was priced at several times the face value will find this hard to swallow.”

A CMA spokesman said: “Following our action, Viagogo’s website now gives UK customers much clearer information.”
