Veteran LB Cameron Wake is everything the Titans hoped he would be

The Tennessee Titans made the choice to bring veteran linebacker Cameron Wake on in free agency — and he’s yet to let the team down.

Expected to be a serious force as a pass rusher, Wake has already started serving as a mentor figure to some of the team’s younger talent.

Fellow linebacker Jayon Brown said earlier in the year that he’s already gone to the 37-year-old for advice.

“We talked for a while after one of our workouts the other day, and he gave me some great advice,” Brown told the team. “I asked him how he’s stayed healthy for this long, and how he keeps it going this long into his career. I asked him what he eats, and what he does to look the way he looks. He’s given me advice on how to commit to the game. He told me when you commit to the game, it can bring great things to you.”

Wake looked solid as he got some work in during the individual period of Thursday’s OTA practice.

The 6-foot-3, 263-pounder was a key piece of the Dolphins defense,  named one the team’s 50 greatest players on the 50th Season All-Time Team.

The stats sheet reflects just how dominant Wake is, as he’s recorded 360 tackles, 98 sacks and one interception over the course of a 10-season career.

Wake will look to build upon his reputation as he enters the 2019 season with a new team.
