Veteran Charlton midfielder gets in Leeds United jibe as he issues rallying cry

Leeds United will look to bounce back from the disappointment of dropping two points to Derby County this weekend when they make the trip down to south London to face Charlton Athletic.

Chris Martin's injury-time leveller meant that Leeds have now lost seven points from four games at Elland Road this term, with their flawless away form ensuring that they remain top of the table.

With four wins out of four on the road this term, Leeds will be hoping for another successful away day when they visit a Charlton side who have lost their last two games.

That has seen Lee Bowyer's side drop down to eighth in the table and experienced Addicks midfielder Darren Pratley has issued a rallying call ahead of the visit of Marcelo Bielsa's table-toppers.

“Whoever we play, we want to go into the game and win,” the 34-year-old midfielder told London News Online .

“We want to win every game we can. We’re going into the game off the back of a defeat and we want to put that right. Especially in front of our home fans. No one likes losing games and hopefully we can get something out of the game against Leeds next week."

The former Swansea and Bolton midfielder also could resist a slight dig at Leeds, dubbing them the 'so-called champions'.

“Next week we’re playing the so-called champions that are expected to win the league," he continued. "We’re going to have to raise it because if we play like that [against Wigan] we are going to get punished.

“We’ve had a great start. We didn’t get carried away with the start we’ve had. When you win games, you don’t go out and drink champagne and celebrate. When you lose games, you don’t go home and cry. This is going to hurt. It’s a long trip back. We feel sorry for the fans that travelled up today.

"We have to stick together. We have to dust ourselves down, watch the video and go again."
