WR Michael Crabtree available after release from Ravens

The Arizona Cardinals have been perhaps the most active team in the offseason before free agency starts next month. That trend could continue depending on their interest in veteran wide receiver Michael Crabtree.

Crabtree was released by the Baltimore Ravens on Monday in a move that saves them more than $4.6 million in salary cap space.

He caught 54 passes for 607 yards and three touchdowns in 2018 after signing a three-year deal in the offseason.

Arizona has a big need at receiver, and Crabtree would be an upgrade, adding him to Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk. He will turn 32 in September, however, and put up roughly the same production each of the last two seasons — but that production would have been second on the team in catches and yards last season.

The Cardinals have been very active with signing players released by teams before free agency. They added linebacker Tanner Vallejo via waivers and signed cornerback Robert Alford, outside linebacker Brooks Reed and tight end Charles Clay.
