'Very warm' weather forecast as FOUR WEEKS of heat on its way to UK

After a few days of drizzly, grey weather there is finally some good news - sunshine is on the way.

People across the UK can expect four weeks of relatively good weather - with early forecasts predicting some glorious sunshine and scorching temperatures.

The Met Office says the weather in Bristol will hover around 20C all this week, with the long range forecast suggesting it could get "very warm" as we head in to July.

The UK outlook

Netweather forecasters expect the mercury to hit highs of 25C in parts of the UK in the coming week.

On Monday through to Wednesday the mercury is set to rise to 25C in parts of the south of England and the midlands, before falling slightly on Thursday to the early-20s.

However Met Office forecaster Matthew Box told the Express he expects the rest of the month to be characterised by bouts of rain, but said temperatures do look set to rise with drier, sunnier spells breaking through.

The Bristol forecast

In Bristol the Met Office predicts the week will have a misty start, with sunny intervals coming by late morning on Monday, June 15. Temperatures of around 20-21C are forecast from Monday to Friday, with a few showers also forecast to hit the city.

By Saturday, the sunny weather is due to return fully - with highs of 22C and clear sunshine forecast all day.

The Met Office's long range forecast for the next two weeks says: "Many areas are likely to see a mixture of bright or sunny spells and showers, some of which may turn heavy in places."

For the first two weeks of July, the Met Office says: "Temperatures should generally be above average, possibly turning very warm in places.

"Around the turn of the month and into early July, a transition to more settled conditions is signalled with many seeing more prolonged drier and sunnier spells."
