'Very unbalanced!' - Fans react to Man City's starting line-up vs PSG as Phil Foden misses out

Manager Pep Guardiola has named his starting line-up for Manchester City's huge UEFA Champions League tussle with French giants Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium this evening, making some bold calls.

City, who were beaten 2-0 by Mauricio Pochettino's side in Paris back in September, will be looking to build on Sunday's 3-0 win over Everton and extend their winning run in all competitions to four matches, as they bid to qualify for the last-16.

Guardiola, who has watched his City side win three of their opening four matches in Group A, has made three changes to the side that got the better of Rafael Benitez's troops at the weekend, one of which is enforced.

Ruben Dias, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Riyad Mahrez have come into the side, meaning Aymeric Laporte, Cole Palmer and Phil Foden have dropped out of the starting line-up. Meanwhile, Jack Grealish is absent from the matchday squad.

Guardiola has been reasonably consistent with his selection choices of late, only making changes when they have been forced upon him, such as Kevin De Bruyne missing out at the weekend after contracting coronavirus last week. He is unavailable again tonight.

Unsurprisingly, it is the absence of Foden that has attracted the most attention from City's supporters on social media in the immediate aftermath of his starting line-up being announced. City have not confirmed why he is not involved, but it is almost certainly an injury issue. Meanwhile, some supporters have raised concerns about the overall thinking behind the starting line-up.

Here is what some City supporters have had to say on social media in response to him not being included in the squad.

As you can see from the messages displayed above, Guardiola's overall selection has left a few fans scratching their heads, whilst others have been left worried about Foden's absence.

City starting line-up: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo; Rodri, Gundogan, Zinchenko; Mahrez, Bernardo, Sterling.

Substitutes: Steffen, Carson, Ake, Jesus, Laporte, Fernandinho, Palmer, McAtee.
