'Very lucky' driver and passenger walk away from crash in Wigan

A driver and passenger were 'very lucky' to 'walk away' from a horror crash which left a car mangled and overturned in Wigan say police.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police 's (GMP) Serious Collision Investigation Unit attended the collision on Hall Lane in Aspull.

The GMP Traffic Twitter account reported at 2.28am on Tuesday that the driver and passenger were able to walk away from the incident.

Pictures of the badly-damaged overturned vehicle on the side of the road were also posted in the tweet.

It said: "#GMPSCIU officer attended reports of a collision of Hall Lane in Aspull. A very lucky driver & passenger walked away from this.

"The weather is poor this evening and roads are damp, so please drive to the conditions!"
