Very launches Christmas advert for 2019 with heartwarming festive tale

Online retail giant Very has launched a Christmas advert for 2019 that is set to tug at the heartstrings of viewers.

The advert, set to a ballad version of Rudimental's dance hit Feel The Love, shows an elderly man walking his dog through a snowy terraced street.

The man's neighbours spot him and spring into action, filling a glowing pink box with festive treats including Christmas puddings, decorations and gifts.

Children present the man with the gift and he is later seen surrounded by neighbours enjoying Christmas in one of the homes.

The tagline reads 'Get More Out Of Giving' and the retailer says: "Very's Christmas advert tells the story of a community that comes together to give Sydney, a lonely man, a Christmas that he’ll never forget. Watch as the community races to pack a pink parcel full of Christmas delights to make the festive season special for their neighbour."

Very is hoping the advert will send people to the retailer's Christmas store online.

The advert aired for the first time on 1 November and is available to watch on the Very website.

The retailer sells a wide range of Christmas items from electronics and mobile phones to toys. Toy Story figures and Frozen 2 products dominate the listings on the store in time for Christmas.

Very is not the only retailer to launch its Christmas campaign on the 1 November. Argos has also revealed its Christmas advert featuring a drum set, a crowd surfing bear and the famous Argos catalogue. It will air during advert breaks in Coronation Street and Gogglebox on UK TV on Friday 1 November.

John Lewis, which spends several million pound on its festive offering, usually releases its Christmas advert mid-November. Last year the advert featured pop superstar Elton John.
