'Very important signing' - Bristol City fans delighted as Chris Brunt joins after West Brom exit

If there was one thing Bristol City needed in midfield this summer, it was experience.

After the departures of Korey Smith and Josh Brownhill in the last two windows, the Robins were left with a centre of the park that looked talented but perhaps a little lacking in Championship knowhow.

That accusation can no longer be levelled at them, however, thanks to the signing of Chris Brunt.

The vastly experienced 35-year-old has the ability to play in multiple positions across the pitch, from left-back to attacking midfield and joins following a storied 13 years at West Brom.

it is a signing that has gone down very well on social media, with Robins fans praising the addition of experience into the side.

Toby Osborne: Just the steely experience we need. Building a lot of variety to this squad. Players that can help us control games but also grind results.

Ryan Pagett: Good signing, a bit of experience.

Andy Reed: If Dean Holden thinks he can do a job for us then that's good enough for me.

Jack Buchananan: Solid signing that, need some experience in the dressing room now that Williams and Smith have left. Welcome Brunty.

Bristol City Supporters Page: Could turn out to be a very important signing this one.

Professor Niblett: Chris Brunt could be our most important signing. Forget his age, Baggies fans are quick to say his left foot is still on point and we really need an experienced head in midfield. Chris Brunt and West Brom fans know what it takes to get promotion from this league. Welcome CB.

K Stafford: Proper transfer window.
