'Very excited' Meghan and Harry in 'thrive chapter' of lives away from 'toxicity'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are very excited to be entering the "thrive chapter" of their lives away from toxicity, according to their biographer.

The couple are currently on parental leave after the birth of their daughter Lilibet in June - and have only made a handful of appearances since then.

But according to Omid Scobie, the author of their biography Finding Freedom, they are preparing for a busy autumn and winter, which will see them out and about a lot more supporting charities and causes.

Speaking to People, Omid described the next few months as Harry and Meghan "entering a new era of visibility".

He said: "They're a couple who do very well in those moments of human interaction. They need to be on the ground. They say that the proof is in the pudding, and what we are about to see is that pudding."

The author also said the couple have learned over the past months to prioritise their mental health and keep "some of the toxicity" away.

He added: "They seem to be existing in a different place, and that place is much healthier. Meghan famously spoke about that it was not enough to survive — we are now in the thrive chapter."

Omid's comments come as he and fellow writer Carolyn Durand prepare to release the paperback version of their Finding Freedom biography of the couple.

The release on August 31 coincides with the anniversary of Princess Diana's death.

The paperback version will include a new epilogue that publisher HarperCollins said will also recount "Meghan's emotional healing journey from losing a child to the birth of their daughter".

The rest of the book chronicles the duke and duchess's romance and brief period as members of the monarchy before they broke away to forge a new life for themselves and son Archie in the US.

HarperCollins said the epilogue in the paperback edition will share: "Behind the scenes of Harry and Meghan's groundbreaking interview with Oprah, details behind the couple's move to California (and) the various philanthropic and business endeavours the Sussexes have been involved with since their move and what's to come with Archewell Productions."

It will also feature: "The continuous challenges the couple face regarding privacy and the British press (and) the heartbreak the couple felt over Prince Philip's death."

The updated book is said to have been written with the participation of those closest to the Sussexes.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry will release his own memoir next year that promises to be "a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful".

The exact contents of the work are currently unclear but it may well shed extensive light on why he and wife Meghan Markle spectacularly quit the Firm for life in the US.
