Vertonghen, Foyth, Son - Team news and expected Tottenham lineup to face Ajax

Tottenham travel to the Netherlands to face Ajax in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final tonight (Wednesday).

Spurs trail by one goal going into the second leg of the competition, but can take inspiration from Liverpool's comeback against Barcelona as they aim to make it an all English final.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino may look to make a few changes after a tiring 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday, a game in which Spurs had to play with nine men for most of the second half.

Kane, Vertonghen, Aurier - Latest Spurs injury news and expected return dates for Ajax tie

Striker Harry Kane will again miss out due to an ankle ligament injury, while namesake Harry Winks is still recovering from groin surgery.

Moussa Sissoko was only fit enough to make an appearance from the bench during the first leg, but was influential against a youthful Ajax side. He played 82 minutes against the Cherries, and is likely to start.

Defender Jan Vertonghen has been back in training and should be fit enough to start against Ajax again, but this time he will have to don a mask to protect his face.

In the full back areas, Kieran Trippier struggled in the first leg, Juan Foyth played just two minutes of the trip to Bournemouth after getting his marching orders. His fresh legs may just be preferred to the Englishman's.

Victor Wanyama could also be drafted into the side, with Eric Dier dropping to the bench.

Here is how we think Pochettino could set his team out for the crucial game:

(4-1-2-1-2) Lloris, Foyth, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Wanyama, Sissoko, Alli, Eriksen, Lucas, Son
