Veronica Macedo steps in against Ariane Lipski at UFC Sao Paulo, still intends to fight Amanda Lemos in South Korea

Veronica Macedo, who was already scheduled to face Amanda Lemos at UFC on ESPN+ 23 in South Korea is stepping in on short notice for Priscila Cachoeira to take on Ariane Lipski at UFC on ESPN+ 22 in Sao Paulo.

But she still intends on making it to her UFC on ESPN+ 23 fight vs. Lemos one month later on Dec. 21, if the doctors clear her after her fight with Lipski on Nov. 16 in Sao Paulo.

And according to her coach, Fernand Lopez, the UFC is “100 percent” OK with the idea of Macedo (6-3-1 MMA, 1-3 UFC) taking both fights if she’s cleared, but it remains to be seen if Lemos would agree to wait on the possibility of Macedo making it out of her fight with Lipski unscathed.

Macedo recently commented on an Instagram post of her fight with Lipski (11-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) on her intention to compete in both bouts.

After dropping her first three UFC fights, Macedo picked up her first promotional win in August, notching a first-round arm bar over Polyana Viana, in a “Performance of the Night” finish. She will be replacing Cachoeira, who was forced out of her fight with Lipski after testing positive for a diuretic. News of Macedo stepping in was first reported by MMA Fighting.

Lipski is yet to win a UFC bout, suffering decision losses to Joanne Calderwood in January and Molly McCann in June.
