Vernon Kay's Game of Talents: What's the ITV show about and how many episodes?

After becoming a nation's sweetheart once more thanks to his stint on the Welsh-set I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! last year, TV presenter Vernon Kay is back on prime-time Saturday night for Game of Talents.

The brand new game show starts on ITV on Saturday, April 10 and sees contestants try and beat each other by displaying their various talents - the catch is, the celeb panel and viewers have to guess what their talents actually are.

Sounds convoluted? That's Saturday night TV for you!

What's Game of Talents all about?

Take a deep breath.

Competing in pairs, the contestants and their celebrity teammates will try to figure out the surprising and often bizarre hidden talents of the eight mystery performers in each episode. Can they spot the talents based solely on the performers’ appearances and some intriguing clues?

Tess Daly is partnered with Ryan (ITV)

In this guessing game like no other, the talent show and game show collide. But there can only be one winner in each programme. The contestants will have to correctly guess the talents of the performers who walk out in front of them. To kick off the game, a list of eight extraordinary talents will be displayed on the board and one by one over seven rounds the performers will take to the stage and introduce themselves – revealing only basic information.

In each round, the contestant can either play, or pass to their opponents. A clue about the performer’s talent is then given to the team trying to guess the talent, these clues can take many forms, and some will be delivered by famous faces.

Before the performers reveal their talents, it’s time to find out how much their guess is worth. Seven ‘cash balls’ rise from a podium, each one displaying a different amount ranging from £500 to £10,000. How much is inside? And, more importantly, have the duo guessed the talent correctly?

For every correct guess a team makes, they bank the money inside their chosen cash ball, however, get it wrong and the money goes over to the opposing team. Whoever has banked the most money after seven performances will go through to the final round to play for their prize pot. Along the way, Vernon ups the stakes by adding cash balls of £20,000 and £50,000 into the game.

How many episodes are there?

Game of Talents will run for seven weeks.

Who are the celebrities?

In episode one we have Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood and Vernon's other half, Tess Daly.

What does Vernon say about the show?

"It’s a really fun guessing game where there’s big money at stake for the contestants and at the heart of it is these incredibly talented performers.

"I can say that they’re absolutely unbelievable, every last one of them is spectacular. I can’t say what they’re going to be doing, but we’ve got a bit of everything and anything, some really unexpected, show-stopping performances. The audience is going to be shouting “What?!” at the screen so many times, they won’t believe what they’re seeing."

Game of Talents is on ITV1 on Saturdays at 7.30pm
