Vernon Kay and Tess Daly look smitten as they snuggle up on 'special' date night

Vernon Kay and his wife Tess Daly looked smitten as they enjoyed an evening of good food as well as a catch up with their family earlier this week.

The 46-year-old television presenter, who came third in this year's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! gushed over his doting wife in a cute social media post on Thursday.

In the snap, that the dad of two shared with his 631,000 Instagram followers, Vernon beamed from ear to ear while Strictly Come Dancing's Tess candidly looked away from the camera.

Alongside the cute black and while picture, Vernon joked that he was definitely not missing the basic meals that he had eaten in the I'm A Celeb camp at Gwrych Castle.

"Last nights date night....The joy of good, refuelling food and a jolly good catch up with the fam was very special!" he penned.

"Didn’t miss rice and beans with fried rodent one bit!!!" Vernon joked.

Vernon's followers quickly flocked to the comment section to share their approval of the gorgeous snap.

Among the comments was even one from I'm A Celebrity 2020 winner Giovanna Fletcher, who reminded Vernon of the variety in the camp's diet.

"You didn’t even order a side of pigeon? Or Squirrel? Or Eel? Stunning picture!" Giovanna joked.

A third simply added: "Goallllsssss".'

The couple's stunning social media post came after Vernon revealed that he had lost a whopping 2.5-stone weight while he starred on the ITV show.

After leaving Gwrych Castle, the dad of two even revealed that his 'stomach had shrunk' meaning he struggled to eat substantial meals.

Despite facing some questionable meals while in the I'm A Celeb camp, Vernon won the hearts of the nation and managed to stay in the show right up until the grand final.

However, he narrowly missed out on this year's crown to Giovanna Fletcher.

After leaving the castle, Vernon took to social media to share a loved-up snap alongside Tess after he was reunited with his family.
