Vernon Davis’ acting career is taking off

Vernon Davis is going Hollywood.

The Washington Redskins tight end landed what he calls his biggest role yet on the set of “Hell on the Border,” which features notables like Frank Grillo and Ron Perlman.

“It’s for sure my biggest role,” Davis said, according to Scott Allen of the Washington Post.

Davis also says he wants to find one more major role over the summer before prepping for next season: “I’ve got to get prepared for the next big role that’s coming my way . . . I’m going to try to do one more movie before the season starts. I’ve got an action film that I could possibly be in, just trying to figure out the timing and things.”

Davis has had roles in a few television shows and also showed up in “Baywatch” in 2018 with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, so he isn’t totally new to the acting scene.

Under contract with the Redskins for one more season as of this writing, Davis clearly has major off-field ambitions once his playing career concludes.
