VeriSign Stock Outlook: Is Wall Street Bullish or Bearish?

VeriSign, Inc. (VRSN), valued at $26.4 billion by market cap, is a leading provider of internet infrastructure services, specializing in domain name registry and security solutions. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, VeriSign manages two of the world's 13 root DNS servers and operates the authoritative registries for the .com, .net, and .name top-level domains (TLDs), as well as the .cc country-code TLD.

Shares of VRSN have outperformed the broader market over the past year. VRSN has soared 61.3% over this time frame, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has rallied nearly 9.8%. In 2025, VRSN stock is up 35.8%, surpassing SPX’s marginal fall on a YTD basis.

Narrowing the focus, VRSN has outpaced the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund's (XLK6.8% return over the past 52 weeks and 1.4% dip in 2025.

VeriSign shares rose 11.1% in the last month, outperforming the S&P 500, which fell 0.68%. The rally was driven by the company's strong Q1 results, its first-ever quarterly dividend of $0.77, and a safe-haven appeal amid market volatility from tariff announcements.

The company reported strong Q1 2025 results on Apr. 24, with revenue rising 4.7% year-over-year to $402 million and EPS of $2.10, beating expectations. Net income rose to $199 million, supported by a resilient domain business that added 0.78 million .com and .net names during the quarter. The company also announced its first-ever quarterly dividend of $0.77 and repurchased $230 million in shares.

On the outlook front, VeriSign raised its full-year revenue guidance to $1.635–$1.650 billion and improved its domain base growth forecast. Buoyed by this strong performance and optimistic forecast, VRSN shares jumped 8% in the following trading session.

Among the two analysts covering VRSN stock, the overall consensus is a “Strong Buy.”
