One of Vera's best known stars has paid a gushing tribute to Newcastle by sharing an amazing view of the city.
Kenny Doughty, recognisable to millions of viewers as DS Aiden Healy, has been back in the North East over the past few weeks as filming has got underway on the new series.
Locals have been getting snap happy as the Vera cast and crew have shot scenes for series 11 in the likes of Tynemouth, Gateshead, South Shields and Amble.
And as well as drawing plenty of attention from natives, Kenny has been taking time to take in his surroundings, managing to capture a stunning picture of Newcastle at night.
He shared the shot of the Quayside, with the Millennium and Tyne Bridges in shot, on his Instagram and captioned it with the words: "I will never tire of this view. Love it here. #toon."
His post has received thousands of likes and plenty of admiring comments, including more than a few from proud Geordies.
One replied: "Best view in the world #myhometown," and another reacted: "We love having you here."
Others speculated where he went to to take the picturesque photo. Two predicted outside The Free Trade Inn, with locals regularly pointing out that is one of Newcastle's best vantage points.
ITV revealed at the end of August that series 11 of Vera will consist of six feature length episodes.
Filming was significantly delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, so only two of them will air next year, with the remaining four filmed next year and coming to screens in 2022.
