Vera Pauw is targeting World Cup qualification after signing a to-year contract extension with the Republic of Ireland.
The Dutch woman, who was appointed head coach in September 2019, recently missed out on a European Championship playoff.
“I’m excited to continue in my role with the Republic of Ireland team and with the FAI,” she said in a statement today.
“We made huge strides in our last campaign and there’s no reason why we cannot build on that with the core players we have and the young players coming through.”
Pauw wants to lead Ireland to the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand and the qualifying draw takes place on April 30.
“I believe that we’ve a special group of players with a desire to become the first Ireland women’s senior team to qualify for a major tournament.”
FAI High Performance Director Ruud Dokter said: “This is an exciting time for women’s football in Ireland.”
