It's been on our screens for nearly a decade now and on Sunday, viewers will get their first look at Vera series 10.
The North East shot series has proved a massive ratings winner for ITV since it made its debut in 2011 with award winning actress Brenda Blethyn in the leading role of DCI Vera Stanhope.
The show, based on the stories of acclaimed crime writer Ann Cleeves, won the special Judges accolade at the Royal Television Society North East awards in 2019, just as the credits rolled on series 9.
That featured Louis Healy, son of Denise Welch and Tim Healy as Tyler, the seemingly innocent brother of a murdered teenager, only for him to confess to actually being the culprit as the plot unravelled.
Louis is one of a number of famous faces to have appeared in Vera, with another one being Sam Fender who died in the very first episode of series 1!
Brenda Blethyn is of course back in the title role to lead the cast of Vera series 10 and here is who's joining her...

Brenda Blethyn as DCI Vera Stanhope
Brenda is a two time Oscar nominee, being shortlisted for 1996 drama Secrets & Lies and then for 1998 film Little Voice. While she still hasn't won an Academy Award, Brenda has won countless others including a BAFTA and a Golden Globe.
Brenda's other notable film credits include Pride & Prejudice, Atonement and War & Peace.
Kenny Doughty as DS Aiden Healy
Aiden is Vera's reliable and hard working partner in crime. Kenny has previously been on screen playing ake Harman in Coronation Street and Sean in Stella.
Jon Morrison plays DC Kenny Lockhart
Jon, the actor who plays the old school detective, has been in loads of TV programmes including The Bill, Monarch of the Glen, High Times, Dream Team, and Who Dares Wins.
Ibibnabo Jack plays DC Jacqueline ‘Jac’ Williams
Ibibnabo appeared in BBC afternoon soap Doctors last year as Theresa Sutton and also appeared in the film Two for Joy.
Paul Kaye plays Dr Malcolm Donahue
Dr Donahue only joined the cast in series 9 but you are bound to recognise the man playing him.
90s kids will remember Paul's spoof TV presenter and red carpet reporter Dennis Pennis and since then he's been in plenty of films and TV shows including Ricky Gervais’ series Afterlife as the Psychiatrist,Cold Feet as Reverend Daniel Boot and Game of Thrones as Thoros of Myr.
Riley Jones plays PC Mark Edwards
Vera isn't the first North East-based series Riley has appeared in. He is also in the cast of Wolfblood and, away from the region, also starred in Eastenders last year, playing Ewan.
