Vera star Kenny Doughty had viewers worried he was going to spill the beans on the outcome of Sunday's episode as he took to Twitter midway through the show.
After the first two episodes of series 11 drew in audiences of over 7 million back in the autumn, excitement was high for Vera' return at the weekend.
Filming locations for series 11 included everywhere from Amble to Gateshead and Sunderland to South Shields and for its third episode, the action kicked off in Blyth, when a man was fatally injured during a hit and run robbery at a shipping port.

Anyone who's ever watched Vera knows that each feature length episode has plenty of twists and urns from start to the finish and as the finger of suspicion on who was driving the van that killed Gary Mallon pointed to a whole host of characters, Kenny, the actor best known as Vera's sidekick DS Aiden Healy, joined the many fans tweeting about the show.
But the contents of his post left fans begging him not to elaborate as he posted: "I think I know who’s done it!!"
One fan was very quick to reply, pleading: "Noooo Kenny don't," with another also quick off the mark to respond: "Don’t spoil it then Kenny!"
Others saw the funny side of Kenny's tweet, with one joking: "I should hope so!" and another telling the actor: "I should hope so after all you are a police officer"
Another told him: "Incredible episode on the edge of my seat," while sharing the same complaint many others had about the episode, a frustrated viewer commented: "I love it...but this commercials! There is more of them then the actual series"
