Dublin and Cork will meet at Semple Stadium on Saturday in the glamour tie in the opening round of the hurling qualifiers.
Ordinarily, Thurles would be ideally situated for a double-header for both first round games though with winter moving in and pitches deteriorating, the Laois-Clare tie has been fixed for UPMC Nowlan Park, also on Saturday afternoon, with a 1.15pm throw-in.
The Dublin-Cork tie will be live on Sky Sports Mix and throws in at 3.45pm as all four counties put their season on the line after suffering provincial defeats.
Tipperary and Wexford received a bye to round two, for which there will be an open draw with them and whoever emerges from this Saturday’s two games, though repeat pairings will be avoided.
The GAA’s Central Competitions Control Committee has also confirmed fixture details for the ‘back door’ rounds of the Christy Ring and Nicky Rackard Cups this weekend.
Offaly will make their first ever appearance in the Christy Ring Cup having conceded their opening round tie against Kildare due a Covid-19 outbreak in the panel.
They will play Derry at Newry’s Paic Esler on Saturday, 20 years after the counties’ only Championship meeting in an All-Ireland quarter-final, which Offaly won by 2-23 to 2-17.
