One of the biggest pop bands of the 90s are performing in Perth in the new year.
The Vengaboys are coming and hopes are high that everyone will be jumping to their music when they come to The Bank nightclub on Friday, February 14.
Michael Jordan, owner of The Bank, said he did not believe it when the Vengaboys’ promoter called him to book the gig.
He said: “The company came to me one day and said ‘I want to put the Vengaboys on in your club’.
“I immediately said ‘you’re pulling my leg’. I was completely surprised to get that phone call, to the point where I asked to see the contract to make sure it was real.
“I am very excited about having them here, because they are a worldwide act. It will be a massive 90s reunion type of thing.
“You can’t ask for any bigger than The Vengaboys, their music is still played in bars and clubs across the UK today.”
Two locals will be the official support act for them on the night.
Aria Welsh, who is the current Miss Transgender UK, and drag queen Scarlet Skylar Rae, will be doing a 90s DJ set to get the crowd going.
Scarlet said: “We are really looking forward to doing it. I saw The Vengaboys last year and they are so good at the moment, they are very professional and entertaining. They play all their hits, and some of the main songs are done about three times over.
“We are both really looking forward to it.
“I have not done much DJ-ing before, so this will be another string to the bow.”
