Venezuela earthquake: Dog trapped for four days under debris saved in dramatic rescue

  • A dog was miraculously rescued alive from rubble in Venezuela four days after deadly twin earthquakes.
  • The rescue took place at Residencias Karina, where footage showed rescuers clearing debris to reach the trapped pet.
  • Rescuers reported the dog was in very good health, and efforts are now being made to reunite it with its owner.
  • The 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes struck on Wednesday, 24 June, causing almost 800 buildings to collapse.
  • As of Monday, 29 June, the catastrophe had claimed at least 1,719 lives and was described by Interim President Delcy Rodríguez as the country's "most brutal natural catastrophe".
