(Bloomberg Businessweek) -- Forget the toys, transport worldwide will be the main driver of demand for lithium-ion batteries this year for the first time, overtaking consumer electronics, according the Bloomberg New Energy Finance. By 2030, electric vehicles and e-buses will account for almost 90 percent of production. Manufacturing capacity already underway will meet BNEF’s 2020 predictions, but will have to quadruple after that to meet the forecasts for 2030.
