Several vehicle thefts were reported in Chicago Lawn between June 10 and June 23

Police are warning Chicago Lawn residents about a recent string of vehicle thefts in the Southwest Side neighborhood.

In each incident, an unknown person stole vehicle off the street, according to a community alert from Chicago police. In some cases, the keys were left in the vehicles.

All incidents happened between June 10 and June 23 between the 6100 blocks of South Artesian Avenue and South Troy Street, police said. The thefts occurred as early as 5:30 a.m. and as late as 6:15 p.m, police said.

Police were unable to offer a description of the alleged offender.

Police also recently warned residents of reported robberies committed by an unknown offender a few blocks away in Chicago Lawn.

Anyone with information about these vehicle thefts is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
