Cars were abandoned and roads left impassable after snow battered Perth and Kinross on Tuesday.
Around eight inches of snow was reported on low levels throughout the region, with the council warning residents only to travel unless "absolutely necessary".
A yellow weather warning for snow covering much of the region will remain in place until 11.59pm on Wednesday while a further warning for snow and ice is in place until Friday lunchtime.
In Perth, drivers were warned to avoid certain roads after drivers left their vehicles abandoned.
A spokesperson for Perth and Kinross Council said: "All our teams are out this morning treating priority roads and footways after yesterday's snow.
"Given the amount of snow that fell, it will take some time before these are cleared and we can start treating non-priority routes.
"We thanks everyone for the patience and ask that people only travel if absolutely necessary.
"A number of vehicles have been abandoned or parked awkwardly on Tweedsmuir Road, Firbank Road and Campsie Road in Perth and are preventing snow ploughs from being able to clear those roads so please avoid those areas."
The southbound carriageway of the Friarton Bridge had to close for a period during the night after HGVs got stuck in the snow.
The conditions made refuse collections difficult and residents are being asked to keep their bins out for 48 hours for collection.
Some schools had to close yesterday to children of key workers, however there were no issues reported at the COVID vaccine centres in Perth and Blairgowire despite issues in Dundee and Fife.
NHS Tayside is expected to review the situation this morning.
