Emergency services were called Lake Road in Wallsend about 6.30pm after multiple reports of a motor vehicle accident.

The male driver, the single occupant of the vehicle, suffered minor injuries.

There was no one in the stationery vehicles.

"The driver was transported to hospital for mandatory testing," a Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman said on Saturday.

Police, NSW Ambulance paramedics and Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Cardiff and Lambton responded.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.

Newcastle City Police have been contacted for comment.
